Yes. You are required by law to change your address with DDS within 60 days of changing your address with the U.S. Postal Service.

• Why do I want a non-certified MVR?
You may want a non-certified Driving History (MVR) for personal, informational use.
• If I am moving next month should I change my address with DDS now?
No. You should change your address with DDS when you change your address with the U.S. Postal Service. Changing your address ahead of your move will result in returned mail to DDS and you will not be allowed to perform any Internet transactions with DDS until you have a deliverable mailing address.
• What is a certified Driving History (MVR)?
A certified Driving History (MVR) is a Driving History (MVR) that has been issued at a DDS Customer Service Center or by mail. A certified Driving History (MVR) can be used for verification of driving history for such things as employment. You cannot currently get a certified Driving History (MVR) through our Internet site, but you can get a non-certified Driving History (MVR) for personal informational use.
• What should I do if my Driver's License or ID card has been stolen?
If your driver's license or ID card has been lost of stolen we recommend these precautions:
  • Monitor your banking and credit cards.
  • Watch for any indication that anyone is using your personal information.
  • Monitor your personal information by regularly requesting a credit report (Georgia residents can obtain two free credit reports a year from each of these credit bureaus Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.)
  • You may wish to place a fraud alert on your credit file.
• Is your web site secure?
