Skip a Step is an online service that allows you to prepare your form before visiting a Customer Service Center.
There is no fee to use Skip a Step.
Completing Skip a Step will prepare you for your next DDS Customer Service Center visit.
Your information will remain on file for 30 days. After 30 days you will need to complete and submit your information again.
If you cannot make it into a center, within 30 days, you will need to complete and submit your information again..

You may print for your personal records, but only applicants under the age of 18 are required to print. However, we recommend you print the Secure ID requirements page to ensure you have all the documents needed for your visit.
If you are under the age of 18 you are required to have a parent/guardian, responsible adult or authorized driver training instructor to sign the form for your driver's license. You should bring an unsigned copy of your printed “Skip a Step” form to the DDS Customer Service Center.
Once submitted, you cannot cancel. We will keep your record for 30 days.
